Sailor Moon: Balance“But I don’t understand,” Nomie stammered, “You are not making any sense.” The tiny senshi tapped her foot with impatience and did her best to remain calm. “I said that, you, Nomie, princess and soldier of Europa, are my last hope to keeping the balance in this universe. I need you to destroy the Ginzuishou,” she explained. “But why me, and why the Ginzuishou?” the blond girl asked, her voice almost cracking in hysteria. “The Ginzuishou is the symbol of power in our system. It’s always been here. It cannot be destroyed! Besides, don’t you know how powerful the queen of the Moon is?” “Yes I know,” Mahou-Henshin sighed heavily then continued. “I planted the seeds in all of you, and she was my most powerful. She is the reincarnation of the first in her line, and I have never seen her reach this amount of power before. But you, Nomie, area also a reincarnation of the original Sailor Europa. You and she are the only two such senshi in the system. That’s why I need you to take it from her and destroy it. And it can be destroyed. I have seen crystals like that destroyed before.” “Why don’t you just ask her to do it herself?” she asked, fidgeting nervously with her wooden hair clips. “Can’t you see that I’m not strong enough to fight Sailor Moon?” “I already asked her,” she answered flatly, “She loves the Ginzuishou and its power far too much to destroy it of her own will. Nomie, you are the last hope of the universe. When Sailor Moon destroyed the Shadow Nebula Clan, she did not know that that was the last speck of evil left. The little balance on good energy and bad energy that had lasted for eons finally tipped. Soon, powers that are neither evil nor good will lash out and we will have no way to counter them. Nomie, my soldier, I know that you cannot face Sailor Moon alone. You have many neighboring moons to draw from. Create a large and strong force to face her.” “But facing her with any amount of support means facing her with her allies, who are much stronger than any lunar senshi,” Nomie sighed, almost having given in. “Stronger than any but you,” Mahou-Henshin reminded her, “I know you can do it. You have the power, the intelligence, and the leadership to pull this off like no one else does.” She placed a gentle hand on Nomie’s shoulder. “I’m counting on you, and, whether they know it or not, the whole universe is counting on you.” “I don’t suppose I have any choice, do I?” Nomie hung her head. Sailor Mahou-Henshin laughed, “You never did in the first place. A sailor senshi must always respond to her duty.” She then turned to the curtains that covered the balcony. “I’m afraid, Nomie, my dear, that it is time for me to go. I have faith in you,” she said with a smile before slipping away through the curtains. “Wait!” the princess called after her and hurried towards the balcony. When she pushed through the curtains, however, she found the balcony to be empty. The sprite-like senshi had already disappeared into the starry sky. *** ~ Back to Previews ~
